Agog



Who was Agog? Agog, real name Damian Bisciglia, was an American musician born 14th December 1959 who produced experimental Sound Collage / Musique Concrète, releasing music under Agog between 1985 and 2004. His music was created using a variety of hand-made instruments made of pieces of junk Damian found and turned into either new instruments or sculptures, one of which sculptures can be seen on the cover of Dust is Their Food and Clay Their Meat (1999). Some sculptures also contained cassettes of Damian's work. Aside from releasing music under Agog, he also released music under his own name on his own label Spagyric, and was also a member of the groups The Erotic Boulders and Points of Friction. He was also part of a duo with Zan Hoffman called Devi's Augur. Damian was reluctant to preform publicly, and had only done a preformance for an audience twice at least (Anomalous Records in 1994 with Joseph Hammer as Points of Friction, and with The Erotic Boulders in 2006). He was also featured for an interview in the 15th issue of the Bananafish magazine, and made a track for the cd 'Leave Your Body Behind' called 'Waters Black With The Dung Of A Thousand Camels'. He lived to the age of 52, and died on the 10th December 2012.
